1. The automatic operation is used when a the strobe light must flash
for a predetermined continuous flash rate for the duration of time that
power
is applied to the signal head, for example if you want the signal to
flash once per second for the entire red interval of the timing cycle.
2. Flasher operation signals are used when the signal is used with a
external flasher that determines that flash rate and flashes both the
incandescent
and strobe light at the same rate, for example four-way stop, advanced
warning signs and railroad crossings.

The BARLO Retrofit kit is designed to screw on to any existing aluminum
signal housing. This saves time and money when the modernization of existing
signalized intersection does not require a new signal head but does require
the addition of a strobe signal. The same two styles, automatic
operation and flasher operation are available for the retrofit kit. We include
a tube of silicone sealant for each 5 kits for sealing the flash area.
